As a contestant on Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Thomas Boyce came up short of the grand prize. The Toledoan walked away with $12,500 in winnings from his appearance on the popular syndicated game show, which aired early Tuesday afternoon.

Boyce auditioned for Who Wants to be a Millionaire in July at tryouts in Perrysburg. Boyce, 45, is married to Sherry Boyce. They have two sons, Thomas II, 8, and Thombias, 5. A security officer and gospel rapper known by the nickname “Mr. T,” Boyce is the son of Johnnie Boyce, Jr., and the late Margie Boyce, and is a 1986 graduate of Start High School.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire with host Meredith Vieira is in its 11th season.
