Radio personality Johny D tapped as Wilson replacement on WSPD-AM 1370

Radio personality Johny D is the full-time replacement for Brian Wilson at WSPD-AM 1370. According to the station’s Web site, Johny D is broadcasting in the same 3 to 6 p.m. slot as the controversial talk-show host, who left the station in November.

The Web site previously listed “Various Guest Hosts” in that three-hour time block after Wilson’s departure. WPSD officials would not comment Thursday.

A longtime fixture on area and regional airwaves, Johny D has worked at WVKS-FM 92.5 and WTWR-FM 98.3 in Toledo, as well as the former WKRK-FM 97.1 in Detroit, now WXYT-AM and FM. Most recently, he worked at WCKY-FM 103.7 in Findlay.
