Sean and Carolyn Savage will appear at 3 p.m. today on WTVG-TV, Channel 13, on Katie Couric's talk show, Katie, which will address the subject of medical errors.

The Sylvania Township couple became nationally known in 2009 when they learned Mrs. Savage had received the wrong embryos at a fertility clinic. She gave birth to a baby boy whom the Savages turned over to his parents. They chronicled the experience in a book titled Inconceivable: A Medical Mistake, the Baby We Couldn't Keep and Our Choice to Deliver the Ultimate Gift. In 2011, the Savages had twin daughters with the help of a gestational carrier.

Last week, the Savages were in New York where they were interviewed by Ms. Couric for the program.

“I struggled with the concept that what we went through was a mistake," Mrs. Savage said Tuesday. "I get worried when people start equating the little boy I gave birth to as a mistake. When we have the opportunity to talk about patient safety and avoiding medical mistakes, we take that opportunity and make the best of it.”
