Country singer Kellie Pickler is the latest Dancing with Stars champion.

Pickler and professional partner Derek Hough bested Disney singer/actress Zendaya and Val Chmerkovskiy to take home the mirrorball trophy Tuesday in Season 16 of the ABC celebrity dance competition.

After Monday night’s performances, judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli awarded Zendaya and Chmerkovskiya perfect 65 points for their samba, cha-cha, and freestyle. Pickler and Hough received 64 total points for their quickstep, cha-cha, and freestyle.

Judges’ scores combined with viewer votes determine the winner.

Because there were problems Monday with voting on the ABC Web site during the show’s East Coast broadcast, host Tom Bergeron said Tuesday those votes weren’t counted. Only votes cast by phone, text, and Facebook factored into the final count.

And Pickler, a former sixth-place finisher on Fox’s American Idol, came out on top.

Football pro Jacoby Jones and Karina Smirnoff finished third. Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman and Mark Ballas finished fourth.

Other competitors in the 16th season were country singer Wynonna Judd, reality star Lisa Vanderpump, comedians D.L. Hughley and Andy Dick, boxer Victor Ortiz, and The Bachelor’s Sean Lowe, and soap actor Ingo Rademacher. Olympic figure skater Dorothy Hamill withdrew because of an injury.
