Toledo serial killers Anthony and Nathaniel Cook will be the focus of a television series on the Investigation Discovery cable network today.

Blood, Lies & Alibis (10 p.m.) looks back to the early 1980s crime spree involving the Cook brothers, who were convicted in 2000.

The gruesome murders began in May, 1980, when they killed Thomas Gordan and sexually assaulted his girlfriend, and ended in October, 1981, with the shooting death of real estate agent Peter Sawicki. The men were charged 17 years later after DNA linked them to the crime spree.

Lucas County Prosecutor Julia Bates and Frank Stiles, a retired Toledo police detective who works in Mrs. Bates’ office as an investigator, were interviewed for the program.
