The death of Jacob Limberios, a young Castalia man who died of a gunshot wound to the head in March, 2012, will be the topic of a two-day series on the Dr. Phil show this week.

Television host Phil McGraw will devote his Thursday and Friday shows to the case, which the Ohio Attorney General’s Office investigated and has convened a grand jury to review.

The 19-year-old’s parents Michael and Shannon Limberios have pressed for answers in a case that was ruled a suicide by Dr. John Wukie, Sandusky County coroner, who noted the deceased might not have realized the gun was loaded.

His parents hired forensic pathologist Dr. Cyril Wecht of Pittsburgh to perform the first autopsy, and Dr. Wecht indicated the case should be considered a homicide.

Later, a second autopsy performed by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office released findings “not inconsistent” with the initial suicide determination.

Witnesses William Lewis and Brittany Bowers have maintained Jacob Limberios shot himself. They also are to appear on the show.

The show’s Web site states that during Thursday’s broadcast Michael Limberios takes a TV camera crew to the shooting scene to demonstrate why he believes someone else shot his son.

Friday’s show includes a satellite interview with Dr. Wecht and polygraph testing of the two witnesses, who say they have lived under a cloud of suspicion. The Dr. Phil show airs locally at 4 p.m. on WTOL 11.
