A.P. Bio, an upcoming NBC midseason replacement sitcom that is set in Toledo, will be in town to shoot a scene during Thursday morning's Toledo Walleye hockey game against the Fort Wayne Komets, in addition to shooting in other parts of the city for the series.

Mike O’Brien, a 1995 graduate of St. John’s Jesuit High School and a writer and executive producer of A.P. Bio, will be in town for the shoots.

The former Saturday Night Live writer is also an executive producer of A.P. Bio, along with Lorne Michaels, Seth Meyers, Andrew Singer, and Mike Shoemaker.

"It’s not every day we get a call from a sitcom wanting to do a scene at a Walleye game," said Andi Roman, Toledo Walleye communications and media director. "It’s exciting! We’re happy to be part of the show and it’s extra special knowing the creator is a hometown guy and set A.P. Bio in Toledo."

A.P. Bio is described as a single-camera comedy about an Ivy League philosophy scholar (Glenn Howerton from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) who loses out on his dream job and goes to work as a high school Advanced Placement biology teacher in Toledo, where he makes it clear he will not be teaching any biology. Realizing he has a room full of honor roll students at his disposal, he opts to use the kids to his own benefit: revenge against those who wronged him.

The cast includes Patton Oswalt, Lyric Lewis, Mary Sohn, Aparna Brielle, Jacob McCarthy, Nick Peine, with Saturday Night Live’s Vanessa Bayer a guest star in the series pilot, which is scheduled for an early spring premiere.
