Game review: God of War ****1/2

God of War takes players back to the days of ancient Greece, a time when a sharp blade spoke louder than words. You play as Kratos, a Spartan warrior at odds with the gods of mythology, who hacks and slashes his way to revenge.

An incredibly immersive storyline and no-holds-barred action along with clever puzzle challenges keep this game charging along at double time. The visuals are among the best the system has to offer.

Note to parents: This game earns its "Mature" rating with gobs of violence as well as some sexual overtones.

Simply put, GOW is one of the best hardcore action games to date for the PS2. You'll want to pick up this one.
