SAN FRANCISCO — Apple Inc. will close its stores for several hours today so employees can watch a Web cast of a memorial service for co-founder Steve Jobs, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The memorial, which is private, will be at 10 a.m. at Apple’s Cupertino headquarters. The MacCafe in Toledo, which is not a company-owned store, has no plans to close today, a spokesman said. Mr. Jobs died Oct. 5 at age 56 of pancreatic cancer.
