BLADE STAFF

By now, it's a truism to say the Internet world changes rapidly. We at The Blade expect to change with it. As we do so, we may from time to time change the terms of our Visitor Agreement.

If you continue to access toledoblade.com after we post any such changes, that means you accept the agreement, as modified. If you want to keep up with the changes, check the page (click here) every now and then when you visit toledoblade.com.

Recent changes include the following:

The Blade requires that commenters register using their real name in the User Name field. Your "nickname," which is the display name on your comments, cannot be a famous person, a known media, agency, organization, or business, a derogatory or otherwise inappropriate name, or a name which may be misleading, such as "countysheriff."

Be polite and considerate of others' views. Personal attacks against other commenters will not be tolerated. Comments should be focused on the story, not on other commenters. If you engage in calling other commenters derogatory names or issuing insults, you will be subject to having the comment removed and being banned from making further comments.

As always, you and you alone are responsible for what you post in the public areas on toledoblade.com, just as every other user is responsible for what that user posts. Be aware that others may view any material you post in public areas.

You may not post or transmit any defamatory, abusive, obscene, offensive, threatening, or illegal material, or any other material that infringes on the ability of others to enjoy toledoblade.com or that infringes on the rights of others.

We expect you to take that commitment seriously. We have the right to deny access to anyone who we believe has violated these or any other term of this agreement.

We are glad to provide the platform for your to share your opinions, news tips, and general comments on our news content. We trust that these guidelines will help us continue this option for those who participate.
