Amazon says 1st model of Kindle Fire is sold out
8/31/2012SEATTLE -- Amazon.com Inc. reported Thursday that the first model of the Kindle Fire is sold out.
The Internet retailer has a news conference scheduled for next Thursday in Santa Monica, Calif., where it is expected to reveal a new model of the Fire. The announcement that the first model is "sold out" suggests that Amazon halted production a while ago to retool for a new model.
