Three UT football players picked in Canadian league's draft

Two former University of Toledo football players and one returning senior were selected yesterday in the Canadian Football Draft.

Slot back/receiver Lyle Green, of Kitchener, Ont., was selected by the British Columbia Lions with the third overall pick in the draft.

Cornerback Fabian Burke, also of Kitchener, was chosen in the second round on the 13th overall pick by the Edmonton Eskimos.

Phil Gibson, a returning defensive lineman from Burlington, Ont., was tabbed in he third round (18th pick) by the Montreal Alouettes, who hold his rights for the 2002 season.
