Rockets fire up in second half, top Eastern

Guard Olivia Terry nailed 4 of 8 field goal tries, including 3 of 5 from behind the arc, to score 16 points, and Toledo roared back from a 13-point halftime deficit with 52 second-half points to bounce Eastern Michigan 72-61 last night.

Danielle Bishop added 15 points, Karin Hoogendam contributed 14 and 9 rebounds, and Crystal Young had 10 points for the Rockets (13-14, 9-7 Mid-American Conference).

Nikki Knapp posted 14 points and 11 rebounds for Eastern Michigan (21-6, 11-5).

Ryan Coleman had 16 points and Melis Ulker 10 for the Eagles, who made only 33.3 percent of their field goal attempts (11 of 33) after the intermission.

Toledo heated up after making just 29.6 percent of its shots (8 of 27) in the first half, making 54.5 percent (12 of 22) in the second half, including 5 of 10 from 3-point range.

The Rockets also sunk 25 of 30 free throws for the game, including 23 of 28 after the break.

Eastern won the rebounding battle 38-34 and had a 12-2 edge on fast-break points. Toledo had 15 assists to the Eagles' 14 and 14 turnovers to Eastern's 13.
