CINCINNATI - The University of Toledo sustained a 56-53 setback to Loyola Marymount in women's basketball last night in the opening round of the National City Xavier Invitational in the Cintas Center.

The Rockets (0-2) fought back from a 12-point halftime deficit and led late in the contest, but could not finish off the Lions.

UT will play Western Carolina at 2 p.m. today. The Catamounts lost to host Xavier 79-50.

"We didn't play too well in the first half, but we got the jitters out in the second half and played better," UT coach Mark Ehlen said. "We're starting to become a team. We are learning from each other and had a chance to win this game, but we didn't get it done."

Senior Danielle Bishop led UT with 15 points, while junior Ta'Yani Clark added 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds.
