Kim Knuth, a two-time Mid-American Conference women's basketball player of the year and the University of Toledo's all-time leading scorer, will have her No. 52 jersey retired at halftime of the UT women's game Feb. 24 against Central Michigan at Savage Hall.

UT, which has never before retired a jersey, will hold ceremonies twice in a one-week period. It was previously announced that former men's All-American Steve Mix will have his uniform retired on Feb. 17.

Knuth, also the MAC's career scoring leader with 2,509 points, was the league's player of the year during the 1997-98 and 1998-99 seasons. She was an honorable mention All-American and also earned Academic All-American honors.

"It's such an honor and privilege for UT to retire my jersey, especially being the first one," Knuth said in a statement released by the university.

"It's flattering and overwhelming because basketball is a team game and I played with so many great players like Mimi Olson, Angela Drake, Kim D'Angelo and others."
