YPSILANTI, Mich. - Tanika Mays scored 17 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead the University of Toledo women to an 80-67 Mid-American Conference basketball victory over Eastern Michigan last night.

The Rockets improved their record to 9-7 and remained unbeaten in conference play at 3-0.

The Eagles fell to 4-11, 0-3.

Mays led a dominant performance on the boards as the Rockets outrebounded the Eagles 47-26. In fact, with 22, Toledo has almost as many offensive rebounds as Eastern had total rebounds.

"Tanika posted some unbelievable numbers tonight," Rockets coach Tricia Cullop said. "She played a tremendous game and did some great things for us.

Joining Mays in double-figure scoring were Allie Clifton with 15 points, Jessica Williams with 12, and Lisa Johnson with 10. Clifton grabbed nine rebounds and Naama Shafir handed out nine assists.
