The University of Toledo women s basketball team dropped its final game of the regular season Saturday, losing a 75-69 decision to Ball State at Savage Arena.
UT had a 15-point lead at one point in the first half, but the Cardinals took advantage of 20 Rockets turnovers and made 27-of-33 free throws.
Despite the loss, That blue-collar attitude that we ve had all year was back, Coach Tricia Cullop said.
It was a true test of their fortitude and their persistence this whole season long. I was very proud of what they accomplished today even though it was a loss.
Tanika Mays led UT with 17 points, and Naama Shafir added 16. The Rockets dropped to 17-12, 11-5 in the Mid-American Conference.
The game had no impact on the standings. UT had already clinched a first-round bye in the MAC tournament and plays at 9 a.m. Friday in the quarterfinals at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
