With his team being the most penalized in the Mid-American Conference, University of Toledo coach Tim Beckman vowed Monday to make changes this week in practice in order to address that issue.

The Rockets (3-2, 1-0 MAC) have been flagged 45 times this season for an average of 75.2 yards per game.

While he cited the Rockets' aggressiveness as part of the cause for the high number of penalties, Beckman also said Monday that his players need to show more discipline. Beckman added that he will have referees at practices this week ensuring that the Rockets are playing within the rules.

Meanwhile, UT senior receiver Stephen Williams has been named the MAC West division offensive player of the week, the league office announced Monday.

Williams had 10 catches for a career-best 231 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning 51-yard reception with 27 seconds remaining in a 37-30 win at Ball State on Saturday.

Williams' 231 receiving yards was the second-best mark in school history in a single game. Kenny Higgins holds the record of 233 yards, set against Ball State on Oct. 2, 2004.
