At the rate the University of Toledo Rocket hoopsters are going, it's time for the players to amend their individual goals in life.
With a 3-26 (and sliding) record this season, none will ever make it to the NBA, or not even an instructional league.
They should concentrate on a more important goal: earning a college degree and becoming a productive member of society.

Blade sports writer Steve Junga so aptly gave prominence in his Sidelines feature to the "Fantastic Freshmen" who rightly have earned their accolades.
It would have been a nice touch if he could have added one more paragraph highlighting other "notable freshmen" whom he may have considered and gave a brief comment on them.
Such as the two fine freshmen players at Otsego, A.C. Limes and Ryan Smoyer. (There are others at various schools.) Limes is one of the leading rebounders and scorers in the SLL. Smoyer is only slightly behind Limes statistically, and both started in football as well, Smoyer as a quarterback (and both play AAU basketball as well).
Otsego basketball is on the upswing again relative to recent years. I realize the small school players indeed, most often, are a "step behind" but not always are they inferior because they are not competing at the highest level week-in and week-out - case in point, Aaron Craft at Liberty Benton, a Division III school.
I just thought I'd give pubs to the smaller-school guys and suggest that this might be a nice touch in the future.

Last Sunday, The Blade published a full column of high school wrestling results including results of the finals and consolation finals of all the local sectionals in addition to large feature articles about these events.
For swimming there was only a cursory article about the district meets in Bowling Green and not even a full list of the event winners and runners-up.
What a disgraceful disservice to these talented, hard working local swimmers whose sport, for some arbitrary reason, isn't treated as equally significant by The Blade.
