The University of Toledo football program has received its seventh and eighth commitments for the 2012 recruiting class.

Cornerback Kevin Buford and offensive lineman Paul Perschon gave UT coach Tim Beckman nonbinding verbal pledges Thursday to play for the Rockets.

Buford (5-foot-10, 160 pounds) of Canton (Mich.) High School had offers from several other Mid-American Conference schools and could also contribute on special teams as a returner.

Perschon (6-6, 310) of Conant High School in Hoffman Estates, Ill., reportedly had other offers from Western Michigan and Wyoming.

Both are rated as two-star recruits, according to Rivals.com.

The Rockets will hold their annual fan appreciation day at the Fetterman Training Center from 4 to 5 p.m. Aug. 6.

Fans are invited to meet the team, get autographs, and take photographs with their favorite players. All fans will receive a free 2011 football schedule poster.
