University of Toledo coach Tim Beckman confirmed Thursday that junior linebacker Danny Molls suffered a "lower body injury" in practice this week and will not play tomorrow at Ohio State.

Beckman did not detail the exact nature of Molls' injury in his statement through a UT athletic department spokesman, but multiple people with knowledge of the situation told The Blade that Molls was seen wearing a protective boot on his leg Wednesday and was on crutches.

Molls is Toledo's top returning tackler from last season, recording 143 tackles and 10.5 tackles for a loss in 13 starts in 2010. He registered five tackles in the Rockets' 58-22 season-opening victory over New Hampshire last week at the Glass Bowl.

Molls' injury is not expected to sideline him for the remainder of the season, according to Beckman.

Senior Terrell Anderson is listed as Molls' backup on the team's most recent depth chart and has never been a starter in his college career. Anderson totaled 18 tackles in 11 games last season as a reserve linebacker.
