Whitmer defensive lineman Marquise Moore committed Friday to the University of Toledo football team, giving the Rockets two commitments on the day and bringing their 2013 class to five members.

He also had offers from Akron and Youngstown State, but chose to stay near home, citing closeness with head coach Matt Campbell and assistants Tom Matukewicz and Eli Rasheed.

"They treat me like family, and UT feels like home," Moore said.

After attending Bowsher his freshman and sophomore years, Moore (6-foot-1, 285 pounds) transferred to Whitmer in 2011 and was named All-Three Rivers Athletic Conference and all-district.

His nonbinding pledge keeps the pipeline flowing between Whitmer and UT after the February signings of running back Jody Webb and offensive lineman Storm Norton.

Moore is attending camp today at West Virginia, a sign that his intentions could change if a more attractive choice materializes.

UT also received a commitment Friday from quarterback Javon Harrison, a two-star prospect from Huber Heights Wayne.
