  • Defensive end Christian Smith did not participate at practice Wednesday and is considered questionable for University of Toledo's home game Saturday against Central Michigan.

Smith was seen on crutches and with his knee in a protective brace, to which coach Matt Campbell called "precautionary for right now." Results of an MRI should be known Thursday.

Smith, who has registered 13 tackles and one sack, was injured late in last week's win at Western Michigan. If he is unavailable, the Rockets are expected to be without three starters on the defensive line. Tackle Danny Farr (knee) is working his way back to health, and end T.J. Fatinikun (Achilles) is out for the season.

"Right now it's a question mark," Campbell said.
