YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Toledo beat Eastern Michigan, 52-47, to win its sixth game in a row and become bowl eligible.

It wasn't over until Jermaine Robinson knocked down a hail mary pass at about the 20-yard line as time expired.

Toledo (6-1, 4-0) had 655 offensive yards. EMU (0-6, 0-3) had 624.

THIRD QUARTER

An offensive explosion sprouted in the third quarter with both teams scoring four touchdowns, all of 41 yards or more. Toledo leads 49-37 after Bernard Reedy scored on receptions of 65 and 59 yards, and a kickoff return of 89 yards. With 390 all purpose yards, Reedy broke the school record set in 1994 by Casey McBeth.

Alonzo Russell hauled in a 60-yard TD from Terrance Owens.

EMU's Bronson Hill scored on runs of 47, 58, and 70 yards. The Eagles scored another TD on a 41-yard reception by Tyreese Russell.

HALFTIME

David Fluellen scored on two rushing touchdowns in the second quarter to give Toledo the lead 21-10.

Fluellen, who has cleared 100 yards for the third straight game, scored on runs of 53 and 6 yards. He has carried the ball 11 times for 125 yards, an average of 11.4 yards per touch.

The Rockets blew an opportunity to break the game open on the final drive. After consecutive completions of 40 and 32 yards to Bernard Reedy, Terrance Owens threw an interception in the end zone with 12 seconds to go. Reedy stumbled and fell at the 13 on the second hook-up, otherwise he was free to score.

FIRST QUARTER

Eastern Michigan leads Toledo 10-7 after one quarter.

The Rockets struck first on a 4-yard keeper by quarterback Terrance Owens. That came after Dan Molls picked off a deflected pass on the first offensive play of the game.

EMU, which had not scored in the first quarter all season, made a 31-yard field goal and turned an Owens interception into a 10-yard TD pass from Tyler Benz to Tyreese Russell.
