The top-ranked recruiting class in the Mid-American Conference got sweeter Friday evening after the University of Toledo landed a three-star safety.

Delando Johnson, of Maryland power Calvert Hall, becomes the 18th player to commit to UT's class. He reports offers to Rivals.com from Boston College, Buffalo, East Carolina, Illinois, Ohio, Old Dominion, Temple, Wake Forest, and Youngstown State. Both Rivals and Scout.com consider Johnson an "Athlete," a label given to a prospect whose college position is unclear. Johnson (6-2, 180) is expected to play safety for the Rockets.

Toledo, which is expected to add roughly seven more commitments before signing day in February, is poised to land the MAC's top-ranked class — by either Rivals or Scout — for the fourth year in a row.
