All-Ohio running back Kareem Hunt committs to University of Toledo

All-Ohio running back Kareem Hunt committed to the University of Toledo on Friday, giving the Rockets one of their biggest gets in the 2013 recruiting class.

Hunt, of Willoughby South, rushed for 2,508 yards last season on 227 carries (11-yard average) and scored 45 touchdowns. He was considered a strong candidate for Ohio's Mr. Football, an award won by Mentor quarterback Mitch Trubisky.

Hunt, the only running back committed to Toledo, reports offers to Rivals.com from BCS teams Cincinnati, Minnesota, and Pittsburgh, as well as from several Mid-American Conference schools.

Hunt is believed to be the 18th commitment in a class expected to be ranked atop the MAC for the fourth year in a row.
