UT, BG to have national TV appearances

The University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University football teams each could make at least three appearances on ESPN2 or ESPNU, according to schedules released by the Mid-American Conference on Friday.

The Rockets will host Northern Illinois on Wed., Nov. 20, in an ESPN2 contest that will kick off at 8 p.m.

UT also will play two other non-Saturday games, hosting Buffalo on Tues., Nov. 12, and playing at Akron on Fri., Nov. 29. Both of those games could be broadcast on ESPNU.

The Falcons will play at Miami on Tues., Nov. 5, in an 8 p.m. game that will be broadcast on ESPN2 or ESPNU. BG’s other non-Saturday games are on Tues., Nov. 12, against Ohio at home and Fri., Nov. 29, at Buffalo. Both of those games could be broadcast on ESPNU.

Bowling Green will host Toledo in the two schools’ annual rivalry game on Sat., Oct. 26, at Doyt Perry Stadium.

Both the Rockets and Falcons will play the same eight league schools as in 2012, with the home site of this year’s contest the opposite of last year’s game.

Both Toledo and BG have scheduled a 2013 home game against an FBS school that played in a bowl game last year. Toledo will host Navy on Sat., Oct. 19, while Bowling Green will open the season at home against Tulsa on Thurs., Aug. 29.
