Toledo women win, secure outright MAC championship

Rockets defeat Eastern Michigan, improve to 26-2

The University of Toledo women's basketball team secured the outright Mid-American Conference title today in a 48-38 win at home over Eastern Michigan.

The Rockets, who improved to 26-2 and 14-1, clinched the No. 1 seed in the league tournament.

Lecretia Smith posted a double-double with 12 rebounds and 10 points, and Inma Zanoguera pumped in 14 points.

It was the 14th straight win for Toledo, which will wrap up the regular season Wednesday at home against Ball State.
