MUNCIE, Ind. — The University of Toledo secured its first 20-win season since 2005-06, prevailing 80-73 today at Ball State.
Rian Pearson's baseline jumper with 28 seconds left gave the Rockets (20-3, 8-2) a five-point lead. Pearson, who finished with a game-high 20 points, stole the ball at the other end to seal the win.
Zavier Turner led Ball State (4-17, 1-9) with 19 points.
Julius Brown (18 points) and Nathan Boothe (11 points) fouled out for Toledo. Justin Drummond added 12 points for the Rockets.
