The University of Toledo will be adding to its updated football facilities with another renovation, this one coming in the form of a new scoreboard.

UT announced Wednesday that a 1,500-square foot video scoreboard – four times bigger than the current version – will be attached to the Larimer Athletic Complex in the north endzone of the Glass Bowl, and the current video board will be moved to the south end zone. Toledo athletics director Mike O'Brien said in the release that the project should be completed by the Rockets' Aug. 30 opener against New Hampshire.

According to associate athletics director for communications Paul Helgren, the project cost about $800,000 and will be financed through the athletics budget during the course of the next several years.

Toledo will be the only school in the Mid-American Conference to have two video boards in its football stadium.

The university recently spent $5.5 million to upgrade the Larimer Complex.
