The University of Toledo football team gathered at the Pinnacle in Maumee on Sunday to for its yearly awards banquet.
With its first Mid-American Conference title since 2004 and a chance at a 12-win season for just the third time in program history, this has been a memorable season for the Rockets. The Toledo program celebrated 100 years of football this season and this could go down as one of the most successful team in that 100-year history.
Senior quarterback Logan Woodside earned the Jim Nicholson Award, which is given annually to the player most contributing to the team's success, and is considered the team's most prestigious award. It is voted on by the players.
Woodside was the MAC offensive player of the year after throwing for 3,758 yards and 28 touchdowns. He holds the career passing mark at Toledo with 10,390 yards and 93 touchdown passes.
Senior cornerback Trevon Mathis was Defensive MVP and senior linebacker Jack Linch was Special Teams MVP.
