Storm's surplus of goalies eases

3/13/2003

The Toronto Maple Leafs yesterday recalled goaltender Mike Minard from the Storm, ending a three-netminder bottleneck that was created Monday when the parent Nashville Predators assigned Brian Finley to Toledo.

Barring injuries or recalls, the Storm is expected to go with Finley and Doug Teskey for the remainder of the East Coast Hockey League season.

Minard is awaiting assignment from the Leafs.

Minard, who played one game for the Edmonton Oilers during the 1999-2000 season, joined the Storm on Jan. 5. He went 8-4-4 with a 2.33 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage.
