"I feel that this is a good move for me at this point of my life," Teskey said. "It will be a great experience for me. It was a hard decision because I like Toledo so much. The organization and the fans here are terrific."

In 89 games over his career with the Storm, Teskey had a record of 48-27-10 with a 2.92 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage. His 48 wins and 2,498 saves rank second to Nick Vitucci (77 and 3,934) in Storm history.

"Doug Teskey exemplifies everything an athlete should be," said Vitucci, now the Storm's head coach and director of player personnel. "He is a classy individual who is an excellent leader and goaltender. He will be missed by all of Toledo."

Storm vice president and general manager Mike Miller agreed.

"Doug Teskey is the consummate professional athlete," Miller said. "He was an MVP of this team in one season and a leader of this hockey club on and off the ice for two seasons.

"Doug was also extensively involved in the Toledo community, where he gave so much of himself.
