Storm loses in final exhibition game

DAYTON - The Toledo Storm lost to the Dayton Bombers 3-2 in a shootout yesterday, finishing the winless exhibition..

Coach Nick Vitucci will spend the next few days trimming the roster in preparation for Friday's season opener against the Wheeling Nailers at the Sports Arena.

Dayton scored first yesterday, but Toledo took a 2-1 lead with a pair of second-period goals.

Pierre Luc-Sliegher got the Storm on the scoreboard with a power-play goal. Sam Paolini and Craig Olynick assisted.

Sixty-seven seconds later, Reggie Savage scored an unassisted tally.

But Dayton scored in the third period, then outscored Toledo 3-2 in the shootout. Savage and Nick Parillo scored for Toledo in the shootout.

Scott Fankhouser played the entire game in goal for Toledo, stopping 41 of 43 shots.
