WHEELING, W. Va. - Goalie Drew MacIntyre shoved aside 25 shots, including 11 in the third period, to spark the Storm to its second win in three games on this seven-game road trip, 3-1 over the Wheeling Nailers last night

After a scoreless first period in which Toledo peppered the Nailers with 16 shots, Gerry Burke opened the scoring with his sixth goal of the season at 10:59 of the second period for the Storm and Brad Bonello got his ninth of the season with 34 seconds left in the second as the Storm took a 2-0 lead before 2,348 fans.

Toledo coach Nick Vitucci was more than pleased with his team's performance on the road trip.

"[MacIntyre] made some key saves and his play gave us a chance to win,'' coach Vitucci said. "He came up big at the end and we needed that.''

MacIntyre kept the Nailers at bay until 7:25 of the third when Wheeling's Bo Cheesman scored his 13th goal of the season on the power play.

Scooter Smith cemented the win for the Storm with 44 seconds remaining in the game with an empty net goal.

The Storm meets the Johns-town Chiefs tomorrow night.
