For the third straight game, Toledo allowed the first goal as Reading's Roman Teslyuk scored his second goal of the year at 5:51 of the first period. Teslyuk scored on a one-timer from the blue line that beat Storm goaltender Dominic Vicari.

The Storm (7-3-0) bounced back midway through the second period when Richard Colwill beat Ryan Munce, in for an injured Yutaka Fukufuji at the start of the second, low on the glove-hand side for his second goal of the season.

Reading (4-4-3) reclaimed the lead at 13:07 of the second when former Storm forward Shawn Collymore netted the first of his three second-period goals.

Toledo's Matt Zultek tied the game at 2 later in the period with his fourth goal of the season. Collymore banged a rebound past Vicari at 16:52 for a Reading 3-2 lead, and when he put the finishing touches on an Arpad Mihaly pass at 19:21, Collymore had three goals in 6 minutes, 14 seconds.

The Storm moved within one early in the second period when Colwill collected his second goal of the game. Nick Parillo fed a perfect pass through the Reading crease, which Colwill collected and slammed past Munce.

The game remained a one-goal affair until 15:41 when Reading extended its lead on a Joe Zappala goal.

Malcolm MacMillan ended the scoring at 17:25 of the third. Vicari, making his first start in two weeks, made 29 saves in a losing effort.
