11/15/2009

ESTERO, Fla. - Florida defenseman Scott Hotham scored a pair of goals, including an overtime tally that gave the Everblades a 5-4 victory over the Walleye last night.

Hotham's goal, which came with just 40 seconds left in the overtime, gave the Everblades three wins over Toledo in the last four nights.

After a scoreless first period - in which the Walleye outshot Florida 19-6 - the two teams combined for six goals in the second period.

Jamie Milam, Justin Hodgman, and Tommy Lange scored in the second period for the Walleye.

Florida countered with goals by Akron Spylo, Jordan Morrison, and Hotham, with Morrison's goal coming on the power play.

A.J. Thelen scored a power-play goal for the Everblades at the

2:58 mark of the third period, but Lange's second goal of the night - and fourth of the season - came on a power-play with 12:37 left to send the contest to overtime.

Jordan Pearce finished with 26 saves for Toledo, while Mike

Morrison made 32 stops for Florida.

The Walleye were without three players as forward Maxime Tanguay, defenseman J.C. Sawyer and goalie Alec Richards were recalled by the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League before last night's contest.
