Trenton tallies 9 goals vs. Walleye

TRENTON, N.J. - The Toledo Walleye allowed five third period goals in a 9-6 loss to Trenton last night.

The Devils scored at 3:16 of the first when Jeff Prough beat goalie Alec Richards.

The Walleye tied the game at one when Chris Robertson scored with a tap-in. Trenton regained the lead at 14:20 when Matt Vokes deflected a blue line shot on the power play.

Toledo got back-to-back goals from Akim Aliu and Simon Danis-Pepin to take a 3-2 lead.

Trenton's Vokes beat Richards with a quick wrist shot at 19:37 to tie the game.

Toledo outsocred Trenton 3-1 in the second with Sal Peralta, Chris Roberton, and Scooter Smith each getting a goal while Trenton's Brian Wilson notched the first of his two goals in the game

Trenton started their comeback early as they scored just 1:16 into the third when Chris Poli beat Richards with a wrist shot. The Devils tied the score when Wilson scored his second goal of the game. Trenton grabbed the lead for good when Jack Combs scored to put the Devils ahead 7-6. Richards was lifted after that goal for Jordan Pearce who gave up a goal to Justin Coutu. The Devils added an empty net goal from Dan Eaves.
