In the final home game of the regular season, the Toledo Walleye put on a crowd-pleasing show Sunday and greatly improved their chances of hosting an ECHL playoff contest.

A four-goal second-period barrage was backed up by a stellar performance from goalie Jordan Pearce as Toledo doubled up Kalamazoo 6-3. Despite giving up a season-high 56 shots, the Walleye moved into a tied for the seventh playoff seed in front of 6,713 at Lucas County Arena.

Forward Sal Peralta kept his hot streak going with two goals. Peralta has scored four goals in the last three games. Pearce was spectacular at times, finishing with 53 saves.

Toledo led 5-0 after two periods, but the Wings fought back with three goals and 23 shots in the third period.
