    The Walleye are bringing back productive forward Sal Peralta, who provided an offensive boost late last season.

    Toledo re-signed Peralta who collected 19 points in 17 games for the Walleye after being acquired on Feb. 20. Peralta scored 10 goals and had nine assists to help the Walleye reach the playoffs in their inaugural season.

    Peralta scored two goals in the final home game of the regular season which essentially ensured a playoff berth.

    Peralta, 27, also played for Kalamazoo and Ontario of the ECHL last season. In 25 games, the native of Leamington, Ont., scored four goals and added 12 assists for the Wings and Reign.

    The Walleye also signed rookie defenseman Tyler Gotto to a contract Monday.

    Gotto recently wrapped up a four-year collegiate career at Niagara University.

    The 25-year-old native of Calgary is coming off his best offensive season. He scored 11 goals while adding 14 assists in 35 games. Gotto also collected 46 penalty minutes last season and amassed 177 penalty minutes in his career at Niagara. He earned All-College Hockey America conference second team honors for the third straight season.
