Walleye re-sign Charlebois

The Toledo Walleyere-signed defenseman Joe Charlebois Wednesday.

Charlebois, a native of Potsdam, N.Y., played in 67 games for the Walleye last season. He scored five goals and dished out 20 assists in his first season as a professional.

Charlebois (6-foot-1, 210 pounds) tallied his first pro goal against Florida on Oct. 17. Against Kalamazoo on Feb. 13, he collected his first two-goal game.

Over the last 22 games of the regular season Charlebois posted 12 points (4 G, 8 A).

The 24-year-old was selected by Chicago in the sixth round of the 2005 NHL draft. He played at the University of New Hampshire where he posted 27 points (3 G, 24 A) in career 79 games. He also led the team in plus-minus rating with a plus-26.

The Walleye begin the regular season on Friday, Oct. 15 in Wheeling. The home opener is set for Saturday, Oct. 16 versus Wheeling.
