Kalamazoo thumps Walleye

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Toledo Walleye got hammered 9-1 by Kalamazoo Friday night in their second preseason game.

The Wings scored two three goals in the first, two in the second, and four in the third.

Forward Andy Bohmbach scored the lone goal for Toledo on assists from Jameson Orr and Jay Holladay.

Toledo was outshot 47-20 and the Walleye had just three shots in the third period.

Goaltender Jordan Pearce, who was reassigned to Toledo from Grand Rapids prior to the game, gave up four goals.

Toledo plays its only home exhibition game of the preseason at 6 p.m. Saturday. The Walleye will attempt to exact revenge on Kalamazoo at the Huntington Center. For ticket info call 419-725-WALL.
