Walleye fall to Express

CHICAGO -- Todd Griffith had a goal and an assist but the Toledo Walleye lost 3-2 to the Chicago Express Wednesday.

The Express scored three third period goals with forward Maxime Gratchev scoring two, including the game-winning shot. Nathan Lutz had the other Chicago goal.

Toledo went up 1-0 in the first on Griffith's power play goal at 17:24.

Toledo scored again in the second period when David Gilbert beat Chicago goaltender Peter Mannino on a breakaway at 5:20.

Toledo falls to 24-28-2-2 on the season and 11-14-2-0 on the road.

NOTES: Walleye goaltender Alec Richards finished with 23 saves and has a record of 5-4-0-0 on the season. Toledo is 6-4-0-0 against Chicago. Griffith has four goals and two assists in his last four games.
