The Walleye agreed to terms today with Adam Hobson, a former forward who averaged more than a point per game for Toledo in 2009-10.

Hobson was a key member of the Walleye's first team when Toledo reached the playoffs three seasons ago.

In 39 games with Toledo, he tallied 44 points. He finished fifth in scoring on the team despite playing nearly half of the season up in the higher level American Hockey League that season. Hobson scored 18 goals to go along with 26 assists.

Walleye coach Nick Vitucci said he had wanted to bring Hobson back. But the 25-year-old native of British Columbia spent the last two seasons playing in Sweden.

“We remember how strong he was with us in our first year as a playmaker and scorer,” Vitucci said. “He is also a former captain in his career with great leadership skills.”

Hobson was paired on a line with Maxime Tanguay and Evan Rankin. Tanguay led the team in scoring and Rankin was third.

Hobson was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the seventh round of the 2005 NHL draft.
