Former Bowling Green State University hockey coach Scott Paluch will provide color commentary for the Walleye's 36 home games, which will all be televised live on BCSN.

Paluch joins longtime play-by-play broadcaster Matt Melzak.

Paluch, who compiled an 84-156-23 record in seven seasons with the Falcons from 2002-09, will provide analysis and conduct player interviews.

"I am excited to have Scott joining our broadcast team for this coming year," Melzak said. "He has an excellent hockey mind that will be a great asset."

Paluch also was a defenseman for BG and ranks as the top scoring defenseman in school history with 169 points in 165 games from 1984-88.

Paluch, a native of Chicago, left the Falcon program in July 2009 to take a position with USA Hockey.

A five-minute pregame show will kickoff each home broadcast on BCSN.

All of the games will also be carried on radio station WCWA, (1230 AM). Ryan Schuilling will return to provide play by play on radio. Melzak, a St. Francis de Sales graduate, will do play by play this year for away games on the radio.

For those at the game, longtime rink announcer Bobb Vergiels returns for his 20th season overall of Toledo hockey.

Vergiels enters his fourth season as the announcer for the Walleye at the Huntington Center. He filled the same role at Storm games at the Sports Arena for 16 seasons.

Vergiels announced after last season that this would be his last year behind the microphone.

"It is tough to walk away but it is time for someone else to get a chance," he said.
