Toledo Walleye give up 4 goals in 3rd, fall 5-2 at Greenville

GREENVILLE, S.C. — For the second straight night, the Toledo Walleye gave up multiple third-period goals in a loss to host Greenville.

After allowing three goals in the final period Friday to lose 4-3 to the Road Warriors, the Walleye couldn’t keep pace with Greenvillein a 5-2 loss on Saturday at the Bi-Lo Center, giving up four goals in the third after going into the stanza tied at 1.

Marc-Olivier Vallerand netted a hat trick for Greenville (19-12-2), including an empty-net goal.

Terry Broadhurst and Adam Hobson tallied goals for the Walleye (16-12-1).

Jordan Pearce stopped 29 shots in the loss for Toledo while Greenville goalie Jason Missiaen had 35 saves.
