Toledo Walleye athletic trainer Brad Fredrick has been selected to work the ECHL all-star game on Jan. 23 in Colorado.

Fredrick, who is in his fourth season with the organization, was named the athletic trainer following voting by each of the league’s trainers and equipment managers.

“It is quite an honor to be recognized in this fashion,” said Fredrick, who will be making his first all-star appearance. “It means a lot to me and my family to represent Toledo at the game.”

Fredrick, of Wayne, Ohio, also was trainer for the Toledo Storm for three seasons.

Fredrick handles the daily treatment and physical evaluation of players. His duties also include managing injury rehabilitation.

The Bowling Green State University graduate spent nine years covering high school athletics with ProMedica Sports Care.

Earlier this month Walleye defenseman Ben Youds and forward Luke Glendening were selected to represent the team at the ECHL all-star game. Both have since been called up to the American Hockey League.

The Walleye begin a five-game road trip on Wednesday in Florida for a 7:30 p.m. game against the Everblades.
