Walleye squander 3rd period lead, fall to Everblades 4-3

ESTERO, Fla. — The Walleye battled to take a lead early in the third period, only to squander a chance to pick up a road victory in Florida, finishing the trip in the south with a 4-3 loss and a three-game sweep by the Everblades.

Tevor Nill and Stephon Thorne 2 minutes, 18 seconds apart in the third to give Toledo a 3-2 lead, but two goals by Florida (17-13-7) in the final 12:30 gave it the win.

Adam Hobson scored in the first for Toledo (19-15-4) while Jordan Pearce finished with 27 saves.

NOTES: D Wes ONeill signed a Professional Try Out contract with the AHL’s Providence Bruins on Saturday. O'Neil has skated in 37 games, scoring 20 points.
