EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Stephon Throne scored for Toledo with a minute left to give Toledo to a 2-1 win in Evansville. Toledo improved to 28-18-0-4 and is now 15-11-0-1 on the road this season.

The IceMen got their lone goal in the first period while on the power play. Defenseman Daniel Tetrault blasted a shot from the blue line past Kent Simpson to put Evansville in front 1-0.

“They are a team that really wants to slow down the pace of play so we have to really concentrate on using our speed through all three zones,” said head coach Nick Vitucci. “I loved how aggressive we were using that speed all night long, which allowed us to pressure the net. We didn’t get down with all the saves their goaltender made tonight.”

In the second period, Toledo tied the game when Nino Musitelli deflected a shot past Paul Dainton at 5:43. Forwards Travis Novak and Pat Knowlton collected the assists on the third goal of the year for Musitelli.

The game remained tied until Stephon Thorne fired a shot between the pads of Paul Dainton with just 59 seconds in the game. It was the 6th goal of the season for Thorne. Toledo finished with 42 shots on goal.
