Walleye lose to Cyclones after forcing OT

Rogers scores Toledo's lone goal with 20.9 seconds left

The Toledo Walleye couldn't score until 20 seconds were left in regulation, then lost 2-1 to Cincinnati in overtime today.

Captain Kyle Rogers tied the game with a rebound goal with 20.9 seconds left. The power play goal sent the game to overtime. But the Cyclones ended 1 minute, 30 seconds into overtime before a crowd of 6,522 at the Huntington Center.

The Cyclones scored at the 15:05 mark of the opening period. Trevor Lewis' scored early as first-place Cincinnati (34-17-6) gained one point on the second-place Walleye (30-19-7).

Walleye goalie Jordan Pearce finished with 25 saves to keep his team in the game.

Cylcones goalie Michael Houser finished with 31 saves.

The Walleye outshot the Cyclones 30-23. Toledo went 1 for 4 on the power play.

Toledo will play four games in five days this week. The Walleye are on the road Wednesday and Thursday before returning for home games on Saturday and Sunday.
